Encyclopedia of Public International Law updates

The Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law (MPEPIL) is a comprehensive online resource containing peer-reviewed articles on every aspect of public international law.

The May 2011 update adds 46 new articles to the Encyclopedia. Highlights include topics such as Compliance, Amnesties, International Administration of Territory, and Gay Rights.

The last update of 2010 sees 41 new articles added to the Encyclopedia in addition to 37 updated articles. There is a strong focus on the Laws of war with 20 of the new articles sitting in the Use of Force or International humanitarian law subject categories.

The new articles include broad-ranging topics such as Refugees and International Law of Cooperation, as well as modern topics such as Cyber Warfare. The updated articles include a thoroughly revised entry on Piracy incorporating all the events of the past year.
