The tax obligation incurred by a U.S. firm upon the liquidation of a tax-haven subsidiary. Under Subpart F (read this and related legal terms for further details) of the Internal Revenue Code, the proceeds of such liquidation may be deemed dividends to the parent and may be taxed as such.
