Domestication
Summary of Domestication
The process whereby foreign investors are forced, by governmental sanction, to relinquish their control or interest in local enterprises to local nationals. The term can be applied to an Expropriation (read this and related legal terms for further details) of foreign property without adequate compensation but is used primarily in those cases where compensation is offered to the displaced foreign investors. See Confiscation.
