District Magnitude in Constitutional Law

From the Comparative Constitutions Project: The number of candidates to be elected from an electoral district.

Boundary Delimitation or Districting in Election Law

Division of a country into territorial constituencies/districts and the delimitation of their boundaries. Electoral boundaries are not always politically neutral, to the extent that in addition to updating demographic and geographic realities, they may also reflect how a political party’s electoral base is positioned across the country. Any redrawing and updating of boundaries should be carried out by an impartial authority, in order to prevent attempts at manipulating, excluding or restricting voter rights.

Heterogeneous District in Election Law

Electoral district in which, either by design or as a result of the application of other criteria for boundary delimitation, the electorate contains social, ethnic, religious or linguistic diversity.
