Counterfeit Code and the GATT Policy Negotiations
In relation to the GATT Policy Negotiations, Christopher Mark (1993) provided the following explanation and/or definition of Counterfeit Code: A draft agreement, initiated in the closing stages of the Tokyo Round but never concluded, which would have addressed commercial counterfeiting problems in international trade. The initiative set the stage for subsequent work in the Uruguay Round on protecting intellectual property rights.
