Literature Review on Economic Development: Community Organizations
In the Encyclopedia of Public Administration and Public Policy, [1] Herbert J. Rubin offers the following summary about the topic of Economic Development in Community Organizations : To bring about equity in economic development, activist scholars suggest following a community option in urban policy. With the community option, the public sector is not directly involved in programs of neighborhood repair, but instead it facilitates those economic development efforts chosen by community members and implemented by community-based development organizations (CBDOs). Such an approach can succeed.
