Agriculture

Colorado Food and Agricultural Directory Provides names, addresses and contact information for companies producing or using agricultural products in Colorado. Search by business type, product, city or county, company name, and market segment.

Nursery Master List Search Database of plant nurseries in Colorado, searchable by city, county, or name.

Water Quality Database System from the Agricultural Chemicals and Groundwater Protection Program. Provides groundwater quality monitoring results by year and geographic location for pesticides and inorganic compounds from 1992 to present.

Corrections

Parole Publication Search – Search for offenders scheduled for parole hearings, by DOC#, by first or last name, by month or by county.

Inmate Locator System – “This application provides limited information about inmates housed in Colorado correctional facilities to the public.”Search by name, birth date, or number.

Education

Colorado Charter Schools Listings Searchable database of Colorado charter schools, including contact information.

Colorado’s Historic Newspaper Collection – A digitized collection of Colorado newspapers from 1859 to 1923. Keyword searching is available by title, by region, or for the whole collection. Limits can be set for articles, photos, or ads. The collection is a joint endeavor of the Colorado State Library, the Colorado Historical Society, and the Collaborative Digitization Program (CDP)

Data Dictionary “This Education dictionary is an online glossary of standard education terms, their definitions, business rules, data relationships, and reporting.”The dictionary serves to define the terminology associated with data collection at the Colorado Department of Education. Search by keyword, by collection, or browse terms alphabetically

Directory of Colorado Libraries Search by library name, location or library type.

School Accountability Reports – Find information about individual schools across Colorado, including academic performance, Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) results, safety and discipline incidents, student/teacher ratio, teacher qualifications and how taxpayer dollars are spent.

General Assembly

Colorado Legislators Past and Present – A database of biographies on Colorado state legislators, both current and historical.

Colorado Legislative District Maps Reapportionment data and customizable maps of Legislative districts.

Governor

Colorado Renewable Resource Database (CORRD) from the Governor’s Energy Office. “CORRD makes solar and wind resource data, maps, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software accessible to a wide variety of users via the Internet.”

Occupational/Industry License Database This database from the Office of Economic Development contains state and federal regulations for occupations and industries requiring licensure.

Community Data A GIS map with data on each Colorado county, particularly aimed at those researching where to start a business. Users can also choose printable reports.

Higher Education

Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence Databases, University of Colorado at Boulder. – Four databases related to violence prevention research:
•VioLit(Violence Literature Database) includes journal articles, books, reports and literature reviews on the topics related to juvenile violence
•VioPro (Violence Program Database), a listing of violence prevention, intervention, and treatment programs
•VioSource(Violence Resources Database), contains information about violence related curricula, videos and other resources
•Vio Eval (Violence Evaluation Instruments Database), a compilation of data collection tools for program evaluations.

Colorado Higher Education Database- Search enrollment data, degrees awarded and offered by colleges/universities and demographics.

Electronic Library of Colorado Architecture, Landscape and Planning – This website from the University of Colorado features a large collection of color photographs of significant architecture in Colorado. Searchable by many different criteria including city, county, architect/builder, site name, category, etc., or just browse the collection.

Historical Guide to Colorado Architects – This guide from the Colorado Historical Society presents biographical information on important architects in Colorado history, as well as links to business directory listings, photographs, etc.

Heritage West – The Collaborative Digitization Program explains their database this way: “Heritage is a database that brings to the people of Colorado the special collections and unique resources of Colorado’s archives, historical societies, libraries and museums in digital format. You can access photos, textual materials, artifacts, costumes, diaries, oral history transcripts, manuscripts, and a host of other materials on Colorado’s cultural, scientific and historical heritage.”

Labor and Employment

Colorado Storage Tank Information System (COSTIS) Data from the Division of Oil and Public Safety on storage tank locations in Colorado, tank type and capacity, and events associated with a particular location.

LMI Gateway – a portal for labor market information from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. Links lead to several databases including job listings, education and training providers, labor market information, and economic and demographic data.

Local Affairs

Colorado Economic and Demographic Information System (CEDIS) – A database system including population, housing, employment, income and earnings, and tax rate data.

Colorado County Profile System – Provides statistical information on population, births, deaths, housing, and building permits in each Colorado county.

Cost Burdened Renter Households – A database of renter costs of all counties in the state. View information by income and % of income paid in rent, or by HUD income limits. Data can be downloaded into an Excel spreadsheet.

Youthnet – Information about services available to Colorado’s youth. Search for services based on needs, geography, age group and other criteria.

Natural Resources

Colorado Earthquake Map Server, Colorado Geological Survey – This interactive map of earthquake events in Colorado displays date, time, magnitude, location, depth and references.

Colorado Oil and Gas Information System (COGIS) – This database from the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission includes information on facilities, production, levies, and inspections/incidents.

Division of Water Resources Online Data Search – Annual statistics on ground and surface water activity.

Find State Wildlife Areas – Search Wildlife Areas by name or region.

Mining Data – Information on Colorado mines, searchable by county, name, permit number, operator, and more.

Personnel and Administration

Colorado Historical Records Index from the Colorado State Archives. A searchable database of indexes for many of the archives’ collections. Search by name, record type or time span.

Public Health and Environment

Colorado Health Information Dataset – “allows access to local-level health data compiled by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to help users determine the health status of a neighborhood, community, county, or region in Colorado.”Includes statistics on births, deaths, population, behavioral risk factors, birth defects, cancer incidences, pregnancy risk assessment monitoring systems, injuries and tobacco attitudes and behaviors.

Colorado Hospital Report Card – a joint initiative from the Department of Public Health and Environment and the Colorado Hospital Association. This database provides hospital comparison data on several measures including mortality rates, procedure volumes, and patient safety.

Maternal and Child Health County Data Sets These annual data sets “contain recent data for Colorado counties for Maternal and Child Health Performance and Outcome Measures as well as for other measures of interest in the Maternal and Child Health populations.”

Public Safety

Colorado Bureau of Investigation Internet Criminal History Check System – The “central repository of the criminal history arrest records for the State of Colorado.”(Note: a fee is charged for each search)

Colorado Convicted Sex Offender Registry Searchable by street name, city, county, zip code, and personal name, this database includes information on convicted sex offenders in Colorado.

Regulatory Agencies

Insurance Company and Agent Licensing – Search for insurance companies and agents.

Search for Permits Registered with the Public Utilities Commission – Permits searchable by number, company name, city, or type.

Division of Real Estate Licensee Database – Search for all licensed real estate brokers, agents, and companies in Colorado.

Revenue

Sales Tax Information System – Find local tax rates for cities, counties and special districts, verify the validity of sales tax licenses, and find rates that apply to a specific retailer.

Delinquent Taxpayer Search Search for people and businesses who are behind on their taxes.

Supreme Court

Colorado’s County Courts Information on each county court system.

State

Business Search- Search business names, trademarks, tradenames, or check for name availability.

Campaign Finance Database – Information from candidates, committees and parties who file campaign finance disclosure reports with the Secretary of State or a county clerk and recorder. The database contains records of contributions, expenditures, loans, notices of delinquent filings, requests for waiver of imposed fines, correspondence, and other important information.

Code of Colorado Regulations (CCR) – Administrative rules of the executive agencies of the state of Colorado. Search by keyword, agency or CCR citation.

County Clerks and Recorders – Choose from a roster of county clerks and recorders, or a clickable map with links to clerks and recorders from each county.

Online Lobbyist System – Online directory of registered lobbyists in Colorado. Search by name, business affiliation, or bill number.

Transportation

Transportation Statistics and Data – “Information is provided on current and projected traffic volumes, state highway attributes, summary roadway statistics, demographics and geographic data. Listings, calculators, GIS shape files, maps and database files are provided to access data that are used and maintained by CDOT.”

Treasurer

The Great Colorado Payback – A source for unclaimed property information. Search for personal and business property, or check the status of a claim.
