California Appellate Courts Case Information This system provides case information for California Supreme Court and Court of Appeal cases. Case information is updated once an hour throughout the business day. Searches for Supreme Court and Court of Appeal case information can be initiated by supplying trial court, Court of Appeal, or Supreme Court case number or by supplying case caption, Attorney , or party information. Searches for Court of Appeal cases can also be initiated by supplying court calendar date. Notifications by e-mail of specific case activity can be set up by providing a case number and e-mail address.

The Clearinghouse for Multilingual Documents (CMD) is a secure database to assist California local educational agency staff in locating parental notification documents translated into non-English languages. Registered users are provided with free access to numerous translated documents contributed by local educational agencies and the California Dept. of Education, and also with secure database access so that they may contribute or update translations. California Energy Commission. This is a 292 kilobyte Microsoft Excel file that can be downloaded and opened using a database or spreadsheet program. The database lists all power plants in California one-tenth (0.1) megawatt or larger by name, county where located, owner, operator, and other information. Information as of this posting (7/13/2007) has been updated and is current as of August 2006. •Fuels Watch Report Database
California Energy Commission produces the Weekly Fuels Watch Report Database covers refinery production and output in California for each week from 1992 to current. Each weekly report compares the production numbers for the previous week and the previous year, and calculates the percentage of difference. California Environmental Protection Agency
•EnviroStor Database
California Environmental Protection Agency. Dept. of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC). The EnviroStor Database allows the public to search for properties regulated by the DTSC’s Site Mitigation and Brownfields Reuse Program, where extensive investigation and/or cleanup actions are planned or have been completed. Search is available by city, county, or zip code; results can be limited to certain types of sites (superfund, school cleanup, etc.), and can be displayed either as a list or as a map. •California Government Online to Desktops (CalGold)
California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA). The California Government Online to Desktops (CalGOLD) website was created to provide businesses with the information they need to comply with environmental and other regulatory and permitting requirements. CalGOLD offers direct Internet links and contact information to state, local, regional, and federal permitting authorities. Users can search for information by business type and then by local geography (county/city). •Hazardous Waste Transporter Database
California EPA, Dept. of Toxic Substances Control database allows the public to search for registered transporters of hazardous waste material, by county, city, business name or registration number. The Recycled-Content Product Directory assists individuals, small business owners, state agencies, and corporate buyers in their commitment to buy recycled. It lists thousands of products containing recycled materials as well as information about the manufacturers, distributors and re-processors of these products. Users can search by product type, product name or business name, business type (retailer, wholesaler, recycler, etc.), and amount of recycled content.

•Registered Sex Offenders Web Site Megan’s Law database.
This database provides access to information on the location of registered sex offenders in California. Searches can be performed by offender name and address, or by geographic location (city, zip code, county, proximity to a given school or park). The database can be set to display in a number of languages besides English, including Cambodian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese. Searches can also be performed by clicking on a given county on a reference map, and then zooming down to the neighborhood level. •California Missing Persons Database

California State Lands Commission
•Shipwreck Database
This database offers information for over 1500 shipwrecks in California. Search is allowed by ship name, type (barge, schooner, two-masted ship, etc.), county, latitude and longitude. Information provided for each wreck (varies by entry) can include owner, year built, year sunk, cause of wreck, captain, length, tonnage, and mode of power (steam engine, sail, etc.).
California Law Revision Commission
•Code Sections Affected by Commission Recommendations

Over 20,000 sections of California statutory law have been added, amended, or repealed on the recommendation of the Law Revision Commission. This page provides access to a searchable database of those sections. Search can be performed by code section number and also by Commission recommendation (volume and page number).

The California Environmental Information Catalog is an online directory for reporting and discovery of information resources for California. California Resources Agency, California Environmental Resources Evaluation System (CERES). GeoFinder is a tool that helps find and retrieve geographic and environmental data from the California Resources Agency, its consituent departments, and other partner organizations. GeoFinder lets users drill down through a map of California using predefined geographies like zip code, watershed, bioregion, county, urban area or by place name. Once an area of interest is identified, the user can easily locate and retrieve digital orthophoto quads and scanned USGS map sheets for the area. A user can also ask for a list of rare species and natural communities inventoried by Fish and Games’ Natural Diversity Data Base. The California Transit-Oriented Development Searchable Database allows users to access and search detailed information on 21 transit-oriented developments in California (also called transit villages). Available data include: land uses, site maps, implementation processes, financing, facilities, zoning, design features, pedestrian access, transit services, photos, travel benefits, contact information, etc. • Caltrans Contract Awards
This database contains contracts awarded from 1995 to the present, and is updated weekly. It provides the dollar amount of the contract, the name and phone number of the contractor, the location, and the type of work. This database contains cost data at the bid item level for contracts from 1993 to the present, and is updated approximately every other week. A comprehensive database of services available to California veterans, their survivors and dependents at the federal, state and local levels. It includes federal, state and county veterans offices, contact information for veterans organizations, services available for homeless veterans, veterans offices at educational institutions and other veterans-related material. •Registry of California Veterans Memorials
Search for veterans memorials in California, by county and/or city, memorial type, veterans dedicated to (World War II, Vietnam, Spanish-American War, women, etc.). Keyword search is also offered.
Department of Water Resources
•California Dams Database Search
Search for information on dams within the jurisdiction of the State of California. Search may be conducted by dam name or station id number, owner, stream or county. Each record includes general information about the dam (name, owner, year completed, etc.); location information (county, latitude, longitude, crest elevation, baseline meridian, etc., dam characteristics (type, crest length, heigh, material volume, etc.); and reservoir characteristics (storage capacity, drainage area, reservoir area, and usage).
University of California Databases

The OAC brings together historical materials from a variety of California institutions, including museums, historical societies, and archives. •Watershed Groups in California
This database, created by the University of California, Davis Information Center for the Environment, covers over 500 watershed groups in Davis. Keyword search can be performed for group name, county, or mission (e.g., “to protect and restore wild trout and steelhead”). Entries may include details such as membership information, data collection (and availability of data) by the group, contact information, and projects in which the group is involved.
Other Agency Databases

Bay Delta and Tributaries Project Database Bay Delta and Tributaries Project (California Dept. of Water Resources in conjunction with many other governmental and private entities). Provides public access to environmental data concerning the San Francisco Bay-Delta, contributed by over 50 organizations, which can be used to gauge the health of the estuary and to manage water and environmental resources. The database includes biological, water quality, and meteorological data. Coverage varies but dates for the various categories from about 1975 (water quality data back to 1961).

Natural Resource Projects Inventory This database is a collaborative effort between the California Biodiversity Council and the University of California, Davis Information Center for the Environment. An expansion of previous environmental inventories including the Watershed Projects Inventory (WPI), the California Ecological Restoration Projects Inventory (CERPI), and the California Noxious Weed Control Projects Inventory, it includes information on thousands of conservation, mitigation and restoration projects being developed and implemented throughout California.

Bonds/Other Public Debt Issued by Governmental Entities in California California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission (CDIAC). The Searchable Database For Bonds/Other Public Debt Issued by Governmental Entities contains information for each reported issuance of bonds, notes and other public debt sold or issued by the State and local governmental entities in California.

CEQAnet California Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, State Clearinghouse (SCH). The CEQAnet database contains key information from all California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents submitted to the SCH for state review since 1990. Some Federal National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents are submitted to the Clearinghouse for state review and these are also included in the database. Provided are summaries of Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs), Negative Declarations, Environmental Impact Statements, and other types of CEQA and NEPA documents. The summaries include the project title, project location, lead agency name, contact information, and project description. The full text of these documents is not provided; also, because not all environmental documents are submitted to the State Clearinghouse, CEQAnet is not a comprehensive database of all CEQA and NEPA documents in California.

Cal/Ecotox Database California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment. The California Wildlife Biology, Exposure Factor, and Toxicity Database (Cal/Ecotox) is a compilation of ecological, physiological, and toxicity data for a number of California mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish. The database is searchable by species or chemical; complete species reports are available for downloading.

License Lookup for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors California Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Check the current licensing status of professional engineers and land surveyors in California. Search is available by first or last name, license number, city and county.

Independent Medical Review Decisions Database California Dept. of Managed Health Care.

Physician License Lookup Medical Board of California (MBC). This resource covers disciplinary and legal actions taken against licensed physicians in California. Covers any felony convictions since 1991 and has varying coverage for other actions (malpractice judgments, etc.)

Planning Documents Database Sierra Nevada Conservancy. This is a searchable database for web accessible planning documents pertinent to the Sierra Nevada region. The database contains over 500 links to federal, state, and local planning documents housed on hundreds of Web sites.

Smog School Database California Bureau of Automotive Repair. Use this resource to find smog technician training schools that have been certified by the state. Search by county or city, and limit to type of course (basic, advanced, alternative, etc.)

Rebates, Incentives & Services Use this database to find financial incentives and technical help for energy-efficient appliances, equipment, lighting and buildings. Search is provided by zip code and also by sector (residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, agricultural]. Flex Your Power is California’s statewide energy efficiency marketing and outreach campaign.

Sierra Nevada Conservancy Planning Documents Database Sierra Nevada Conservancy. This is a searchable database for web accessible planning documents pertinent to the Sierra Nevada region. The database contains over 500 links to federal, state, and local planning documents housed on hundreds of Web sites.

Special Education Hearing Office Orders and Decisions Database California Office of Administrative Hearings, Special Education Division. Search for orders and decisions from the Office of Administrative Hearings, Special Education Division. Separate databases cover 1989-1995, Jan. 1996-June 2005, and July 2005 to the present.

Search for a state worker’s salary Compiled by the Sacramento Bee. Searchable by agency or state university.

California Watershed Funding Database California State University, Chico. A web-based, public domain database for state, federal and private foundation watershed funding sources available to grant seekers in the state of California.

Verify Pharmacy/Phamacist Licenses California Board of Pharmacy. Use this database to verify the licenses of pharmacies, pharmacists, and pharmacy-related businesses, and to discover any disciplinary actions taken against licensees.
