Bruntland Commission
Bruntland Commission or World Commission on Environment and Development (in the Human Development Area)
In this context, Bruntland Commission (also World Commission on Environment and Development) means: stands for the World Commission on Environment and Development (WCED), known by the name of its Chair Gro Harlem Brundtland. The Commission was convened by the United Nations in 1983. The Report of the Brundtland Commission on sustainable development, Our Common Future, was published by Oxford University Press in 1987.
