Definition of Automatic Reservation

In accordance with the work A Dictionary of Law, this is a description of Automatic Reservation : A *reservation to the acceptance by a state of the compulsory jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice. This is made under the *optional clause of the Statute of the Court, which permits an accepting state to unilaterally claim the right to determine the scope of its reservation.
