Literature Review on (Emergency Management) All-Hazards

In the Encyclopedia of Public Administration and Public Policy, [1] Mike A. Gutierrez and David A. McEntire provide the following summary about the topic of (Emergency Management) All-Hazards: This entry discusses all-hazards emergency management. Although the term all-hazards is an important concept in the field of emergency management, it does not seem to have a single agreed-upon definition. The term “all-hazards” has been viewed from two different perspectives: 1) a broad approach which takes all types of hazards into consideration; and 2) emergency management functions that are relevant to almost any hazard. This entry offers a review of the definitions of all-hazards in emergency management and outlines the importance of this concept for emergency management and the communities this profession serves.
