African Development Bank Outline

The agreement to establish the AfDB came into existence in 1964, and the bank began to operate in 1966. Its membership is open to both African and non-African countries. There are about 75 members in the bank. As a regional development bank, the AfDB provides funds on concessional terms to its members. Its headquarters are in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.(1)
