Objections, Recommendations and Comments (ORC) Reports, Notices of Intent (NOI) and Public School Interlocal Agreements – “All local governments in Florida are required to adopt a comprehensive plan pursuant to Chapter 163, Part II, Florida Statutes (F.S.), the Growth Management Act. The Department of Community Affairs reviews comprehensive plans and comprehensive plan amendments for consistency with the Act and issues reports on its findings.”

Environmental Protection, Department of

Consolidated Web Mapping Application provides information about Air Resource Management, Beaches & Coastal Systems, Brownfields, Conservation Lands & Waters, Hazardous Wastes, Solid Wastes, Watersheds, etc.

Drinking Water Database – The Drinking Water Program does not have the capability to provide real time data base inquiries, so reports are provided with information on all the public water systems in the State of Florida.

Ecological Restoration Inventory – Site identified ecological restoration projects in Florida.

Environmental Resource Analysis provides an analysis of jurisdictional boundaries and environmental resources of interest to the environmental resource permitting process.

Geospatial Resource Index (GRI) “is the Department’s central database for searchable maps and spatial data. The site offers a wide selection of maps ranging from interactive scientific watershed data to identifying recreational canoe trails throughout the state. Searching by title, program area or keyword, the Index provides easy, hands-on access to detailed Department-related maps.”

Historic Shoreline Database “contains many directories of related types of information about beach changes in Florida over the past 150 or so years. The main focus of the database is on historic mean high water (mhw) locations from digitized maps and field profile surveys.”

Park Listing & Search will locate all Florida State Parks within a 100-mile radius of a city.

Sinkholes Database provides information on possible sinkholes in two formats: an Excel Spreadsheet and an ESRI ArcGIS compatible shapefile.

Birth Defects Registry is a statewide system that identifies birth defects in children born in Florida.

CHARTS Community Health Assessment Resource Tool Set includes such health statistics as births, deaths, disease morbidity, behavioral risk factors, communicable diseases, chronic diseases, maternal & child health, environmental health, injury & violence, social & mental health, and population characteristics.
• Florida Communicable Disease Frequency Reports are created from communicable disease cases reportable by law to the Florida Department of Health. These reports do not include cases of tuberculosis, sexually transmitted diseases or HIV/AIDS. Generate a Frequency Report to view cases by total count, age group, diagnosis status (confirmed, probable, or suspect), gender, zip code, or data year.
• Florida Mortality Atlas provides a visual display of leading causes of death in Florida. Causes of death are presented for the total population and then by race (white and non-white). For 1999-2003, the information is available by gender as well.

Health Care Provider Information Search is the Division of Medical Quality Assurance (MQA) search engine for health related licenses.
• Final Order & Emergency Action Search “indicates whether discipline has been taken and the current status of the license. The report will only contain discipline taken against a practitioner for the reference period. The online Final Order Look-up System indicates whether discipline has been taken and the current status of the license. The website also lists Florida health care facilities; information on health insurance; medical care resources for the uninsured; resources for seniors; and much more.”

Prescription Drug Prices provides pricing information for the 100 most commonly used prescription drugs in Florida. The prices are the “usual and customary prices,” also known as retail prices, reported monthly by pharmacies. This is the price that an uninsured consumer, with no discount or supplemental plan, would normally pay.

High Tech Corridor Council, Florida

Directory provides “profiles of companies in six high tech sectors – aviation and aerospace; information technology; life sciences and medical technologies; microelectronics and nanotechnology; modeling, simulation and training; and optics and photonics – and editorial features on the region’s grants and research activity; entrepreneurship; high technology incubators; venture capital; and workforce development. Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Department of

Computerized Motor Vehicle Data – fee-based, offline requests searching for motor vehicles, boats, motor vehicle dealers, mobile home & recreational vehicle dealers.

Driver License Check can be used by an individual to verify the current status of their driver license.

Vehicle Information Check can be searched by title or vehicle information number (VIN).

Law Enforcement, Department of

Arrest/Clerk Statute Table “is drawn from the Florida Statutes and includes chargeable (arrestable) offenses and violations listed by Florida statute number. It is not intended to be useful to members of the general public who are doing statute research. Such research is best performed using the Florida Legislature’s own web site.”

Career Offender Search – “As of January 1, 2003, under the Florida Career Offender Registration Act, a select group of convicted felons, the “worst-of-the-worst”, are required to register their residences with law enforcement and a state registry maintained by FDLE, the Career Offender Application for Statewide Tracking (COAST).”

Criminal History Records Search – Fee-based search “for criminal history information to screen employee’s or other’s criminal records. The internet service provides a list of possible matches similar to the individual of the inquiry. You must review this list and make a selection of one or more candidates or none. This is a search of descriptive information and a positive identification can only be confirmed by fingerprint comparison. Certified results are not available over this internet site.”

Missing Children Information Clearinghouse – “In response to the concern for missing children in Florida, the 1982 Florida Legislature appropriated funds to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for the establishment of the first state Missing Children Information Clearinghouse (MCIC) in the nation.”

Missing Persons Search “contains information about Florida missing persons as reported to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement by law enforcement agencies throughout the state and authorized for release to the public.”

Sexual Offenders and Predators – “This database contains public record information on offenders classified as sexual predators and sexual offenders under Florida law because of a conviction for a sex-related crime and/or a specified crime against children. The Neighborhood Search allows users to enter any address in Florida and search the database for any registrants with current addresses within a 1 to 5 mile radius of the address entered by the user. Users can also choose to map the addresses of the results of their Neighborhood Search by clicking the “Map It” link below the address of each registrant listing.”

Stolen Property Search is designed to provide the public with the opportunity to assist law enforcement agencies in locating stolen property, including vehicles, vehicle parts, license plates, license decals, boats, boat parts, guns, and articles (appliances, TVs, stereos, etc.)

Wanted Persons Search “contains Florida warrant information as reported to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement by law enforcement agencies throughout the state and authorized for release to the public.”

Legislature

Online Sunshine provides access to the status & full text of current and past legislation 1998+, addresses & biographical information for legislators, etc.

Find Your Legislators (search by your 9-digit ZIP code) – also identifies U.S. Representatives

Data A to Z (Legislative Committee on Intergovernmental Relations) “contains hyperlinks to additional pages containing Microsoft Excel or Portable Document Format (PDF) file downloads. These tabulations have been prepared by Committee staff using data obtained from various state or federal agencies.”

Economic & Demographic Research, Office of “is a research arm of the Legislature principally concerned with forecasting economic and social trends that affect policy making, revenues, and appropriations.”Data resources include County Profiles and Regional Economic Activity.

Florida Government Accountability Report (FGAR) “was created by the Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability (OPPAGA), the monitoring arm of the Florida Legislature. OPPAGA supports the Florida Legislature by providing evaluative research and objective analyses to promote government accountability and the efficient and effective use of public resource.”

Find Lobbyists by name, location or principal

Lobbying Firm Compensation Reports provide quarterly reports by firm, lobbyist or principal.

Lottery, Department of

Winning Number Search – Search for past winning numbers by game and date.

Public Service Commission

Complaint Activity Tracking System provides listings of billing or service complaints by company name from 7/1/1999 to present.

Dockets – Enter the docket or document number or docket title. Most documents filed beginning in 2001 and after are available on the Internet in PDF format; some documents are also available in Word format.

Local Interconnection Agreements – the Negotiated and Arbitrated Agreement Tracking System (NAATS) provides access to interconnection agreements using two different methods. The first method is by searching for a docket number and the second method is a filtered search. To use the filtered search, begin by selecting to search using either one company or two companies. You can then filter your search by the date docketed range, type of agreement filed (agreement, arbitration, notice of adoption, amendments, or wireless), the underlying docket number, or withdrawal status.

Orders issued from January 1, 1996, forward are on the Website. (Orders on the Internet may not include attachments. Contact the Clerk’s Office for complete copies, as well as for orders issued before 1996. There may be a charge for copies.)

Regulated Companies – Search for electic, gas, telecommunications, water and wastewater companies regulated by the Public Service Commission. Results include company annual reports and current open & closed dockets.

Revenue, Department of

Address/Tax Rate Lookup provides the local taxing jurisdiction and applicable Communications Services Tax rates for all addresses in Florida.

Frequently Asked Questions is a searchable database of responses regarding child support, computer problems, general taxes, new residents, and property taxes.

Corporations

Corporation Documents Search offers free online searches for Corporations, Trademarks, Limited Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, Fictitious Names, Judgment Liens, and Federal Lien Registrations. Included in the detail of the data record is the ability to display the actual document image that was submitted to the Division.

Elections

Campaign Finance Database “contains detailed financial records that campaigns and committees are required by law to disclose. Through this database, you can view contribution and expense records from candidates or committees, selected according to criteria that you specify, sorted in an order you choose. You control the amount and type of data presented, which you can browse on screen or download into a tab delimeted text file for further analysis.”

Candidate Tracking System tracks candidates from 1996+ throughout the elections process presenting candidate status, campaign finance activity, personal photos and contact information.

Election Results are provided for primary, runoff, and general elections since 1978 and for special elections since 1996.

Formal Opinions of the Division of Elections “provides advisory opinions to supervisors of elections, candidates, local officers having election related duties, political parties, political committees, committees of continuous existence or other persons or organizations engaged in political activity, relating to any provisions or possible violations of Florida election laws.”

eRulemaking provides access to the rules and regulations appearing in the Florida Administrative Weekly and Florida Administrative Code, including notices of proposed rules, public meetings, bid proposals and other items.

Historical Resources

Florida Heritage Tourism Interactive Catalog “will enable you to search through an ever-growing catalog of historical sites throughout the state of Florida. The interactive catalog is searchable by county or by 23 theme categories including lighthouses, gardens, markers and monuments, parks, preserves and sanctuaries, national historic landmarks, museums and more.”

Library & Archives

Archives Online Catalog “allows searching and browsing of information about the State Archives of Florida’s holdings of over 40,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 2,700 collections and lists the content of containers and folders in many of those collections.”

Florida Biography & Citation Index contains references to biographical information on notable Floridians in the books, periodicals, vertical files, newspapers and maps of the State Library’s Florida Collection. Some of the resources indexed are rare, but many are current periodicals that might be found in local libraries. The records in this index are a subset of the State Library of Florida’s library catalog and are searched through the Library Online Catalog. To search for just the Florida Biography/Citation Index citations, click on the “Power Search”option (under the search box), and then on the search form, choose Florida Biography & Citation Index from the “Location”dropdown box. On the results of your search, you will see a list of the records with a call number in the format FLCITE(374332.1). Click on the “Details”button to see the record. On the detailed record click on the “Catalog Record”tab to see the list of citations for that record.

Florida Government Information Locator Service (FGILS) “is a virtual card catalog of government information available on the Internet and beyond. Although the focus of the Locator is information from and about Florida State government, we recognize the relationships between levels of government and include links to local and federal government resources as well.”

Florida Library Jobs “provides a searchable listing of job openings for library positions in Florida libraries. It also includes a resume posting service for persons with a Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program seeking positions in Florida’s libraries.”

Florida Memory Project
• Call Family & Brevard Family Papers “contains correspondence, writings, and other papers of Richard Keith Call and his family, 1788-1916, and Theodore Washington Brevard and Mary Call Brevard and their family, 1820-ca. 1920s.”
• Florida Confederate Pension Application Files “include both veterans’ and widows’ applications interfiled, although approved and denied claims are filed separately. The veteran’s application generally includes his full name, date and place of birth, unit of service, date and place of enlistment, date and place of discharge, brief description of service and/or wounds, proof of service, place and length of residence in Florida, as well as other miscellaneous documentation. The widow’s application is filed with that of her husband and includes her full name, date and place of marriage, date and place of her husband’s death, her place and length of residence in Florida, and proof of her husband’s service. Some early applications also include the widows’ date and place of birth. Confederate pensions were awarded to residents of Florida regardless of the state in which their service was rendered.”
• Florida Folklife Collection – Search the Folklife Database “for descriptions of photographs and audio recordings from the Florida Folklife Collection available at the State Archives of Florida. Approximately 46,000 photographic images and approximately 5,000 audio recordings are cataloged.”
• Florida Photographic Collection & Video Clips – “Featuring over 135,000 digitized photographs from the State Archives of Florida, the Florida Photographic Collection is the most complete online portrait of Florida available–one that draws its strength from family pictures, the homes of Floridians, their work, and their pastimes.”
• Florida’s Early Constitutions – 1838, 1861, 1865, 1868, & 1885 – can be searched by keywords.
• Spanish Land Grants “The Board of Land Commissioners was established in 1822 (3 U.S. Statute 709, May 8) to settle all outstanding Spanish land grant claims in the territory that Spain ceded to the United States in 1821. It set up offices in Pensacola and St. Augustine to ascertain the validity of all titles and private claims to lands in East Florida and West Florida. The Board either supported or rejected the land claims by studying the documents supplied by claimants…. The series consists of “dossiers”containing those papers, which were filed in evidence and confirmed as valid claims before the Board of Land Commissioners. Each land claim with its supporting documents is encased in a manila jacket on which appears the name of the applicant, the number of acres claimed, the disposition of the claim, and page reference to the American State Papers. The supporting documents include petitions or memorials to a governor for land; surveys or plats; gifts; attests; deeds of sale, gifts, wills, bequests, and exchanges; applications; and translations of Spanish documents. Most of the documents for claims in West Florida are missing.”
• World War I Service Cards “provide name; age; serial number; race; place of birth; and residence; for service men and women who were either from Florida or who entered service in Florida.”

Library Information Locator “contains a wealth of information about most of the libraries in the state. Public, academic, and special libraries are included.”

Transportation, Department of

Aviation Database provides access to a resource library (aeronautical charts, airport profiles, etc.) and to the searchable Facility Information Directory with information about airports, heliports, seaplane facilities, etc.

Efficient Transportation Decision Making makes information available about proposed transportation projects in the ETDM Process. The Project Diary and Project Effects menus access specific information about a project.

Outdoor Advertising Database enables users to search the Florida Department of Transportation Outdoor Advertising Inventory Management System (ODAIMS) database for information pertaining to Outdoor Advertising permits in the State of Florida.

Statewide Construction Database includes information about local agency projects.

Toll Calculator covers Florida’s Turnpike and affiliated toll systems in Florida.

Traffic Information “provides data and pictures from traffic counting devices at various locations on Florida’s highways. The intended use of this site is for emergency response personnel’s coordination of traffic flow. In other words, if you are working with the Emergency Operations Center, Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, National Guard, etc., this site’s information may be of use to you. However, if you came to this site to plan your vacation or your best route to work for the day, this site’s information is probably not going to be very useful.”

University Libraries

Combined Catalog of the State University Libraries of Florida includes the ability to browse the search results by various call number systems and to refine the results using limiters by format, subject, language, etc.

Publication of Archival, Library & Museum Materials (PALMM) “is a cooperative initiative of the public universities of Florida to provide digital access to important source materials for research and scholarship. PALMM projects may involve a single university or may be collaborative efforts between a university and partners within or outside of the state university system. Florida Research & Economic Database (FRED) provides historical & projected data for the state, counties, Metropolitan Statistical Areas, and Workforce Development Regions by industry and occupation regarding employment, wages, staffing patterns, etc.

Occupational Employment & Wages provides statewide and regional data for specific occupations regarding number employed and wages (mean, median, entry level, experienced).
