Summary of As Laytime

A condition in some vessel charter agreements stipulating that time lost to the vessel because the charterer, shipper, or consignee cannot provide a berth for the ship will count as laytime, i.e., LAYTIME (read this and related legal terms for further details) will begin to run and continue to run until the vessel docks and begins working.
