Administration, Department of
•Alaska Oil and Gas Commission Public Databases – Searchable database of publicly available oil, gas and well data. Keyword and map based searching is available. Database requires IE 5.5 or higher. Be sure to watch the “how-to”screencasts before searching the databases.
•Alaska Public Offices Commission Info Quick (IQ)! – Searchable database of Campaign Disclosures, Financial Disclosures and Lobbyist Reporting for Alaska State Government. Searchable by candidate, officer holder, contributor, lobbyist and employer name.
•State Employee Directory – Searchable by employee name, phone number, email address, department, job title, and city. Database carries this warning “This employee directory is provided as a resource to aid in conducting business with the State of Alaska. Public users are responsible for using this directory and the communications systems in an efficient, effective, ethical and lawful manner. All email messages sent to the State of Alaska and its employees should follow the same code of conduct expected in any other form of written communication or face-to-face business communication. Specifically prohibited is the use of these publicly owned computing resources to distribute bulk email for profit or political purposes.”

Alaska Court System
•Alaska Case Law Service – This database provides opinions and some supporting documentation for cases decided by Alaska’s appellate courts since 1960. It is searchable by keyword, citation, decision date, party name, judge and opinion type and by docket number or counsel. Terms may not be combined. This service is operated by Westlaw on behalf of the Alaska Court System.
•Alaska Appellate Courts Case Management System – Database of appeals court materials searchable by the Appellate Case Number, the Last Name of a Party, or the Trial Court Number. The user may also browse a list of appellate cases. Database aids in the location of transcripts, oral arguments, briefs, etc.
•Alaska Trial Court Cases – Provides access to non confidential civil and criminal trial records back to about 1990. Database is searchable by personal name, business name or case number.

Alaska State Legislature
•Alaska State Legislature Folio Infobase – Searchable database of laws, statutes, Bills , executive orders and more.

Commerce, Community and Economic Development, Department of
•Alaska Consultant List – From the website “The Alaska Consultant List is intended to be a shortcut to finding Mining Engineers and Geologists that are properly licensed to perform consulting service business in the state of Alaska. The list provides names of persons by service who have requested to be listed. Pull down the list by service and click on the selected name to show contact information. The list is intended to be a service to the public; the Office of Economic Development makes no representation as to the competency of the persons or businesses.”
•Alaska Economic Development Resource Guide – This database allows you to search for economic development assistance based on type of organization, type of aid being sought (grants, technical assistance, etc) and area of interest (credit unions, native crafts, historic preservation, etc). Results include program agency, program goals, resource provided, eligibility guidelines, funding status, comments and program contact information.
•Alaska Economic Information System – This database is searchable by community and gives economic/demographic snapshots of Alaska communities and includes information on seafood, oil, minerals, tourism, timber, agriculture, infrastructure and subsistence.
•Alaska Photo Library – Located Alaska-themed photographs by topic and geographic location. From the website, “The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development has made available a selection of images from the former Division of Tourism’s slide library for your use in illustrating and promoting Alaska.”
•Alaska Rock, Sand and Gravel Directory – Locate vendors of sand, gravel, asphalt, tailings and top soil by Alaskan community.
•Alaska Seafood Recipes – Searchable set of recipes utilizing salmon, halibut, crab and other Alaskan seafood. Maybe searched by type of dish (appetizer, salad, entree, etc), Seafood type, and consumer/food service.
•Capital Projects Database – The Capital Projects Database contains descriptions, funding levels and status for over 16,000 capital projects in Alaska communities. Information is searchable by community only. Multiple communities can be selected and exported to Excel.
•Community Database Online – THE place to go for information about Alaska’s communities. Find population, history, municipal contact information and much more. Multiple communities can be selected and the information exported to Excel or other spreadsheet applications.
•Community Funding Database – All grants and revenue sharing funds to communities administered by this division are included in this database. Programs include Fisheries Business Tax and National Forest Receipts
•Corporations Search – Search for corporations by corporation name, officer name or registered agent. Good way to get contact information for a business.
•Insurance Producer Licensing/Viatical/TPA database – From the website, “There are more than 20,000 entries in the Alaska Division of Insurance Producer Licensing/Viatical/TPA database. You can search for a licensee/registrant by name, firm name, license number, FEIN, National Producer Number (NPN), and sort by license class (producer, managing general agent surplus lines broker, TPA, etc.) or by city and state.”

Education and Early Development, Department of
•Alaska’s Digital Archive – Multiagency database managed by the Alaska State Library. Rich collection of media including photographs, video, and audio.
•Alaska District Contact Information – Drop down search for school district contact information.
•Alaska Newspapers Index – Indexing for a number of Fairbanks Newspapers from 1900-1975 and for the Juneau Empire for 1992-1999. Searchable by headline and year for all newspapers. Juneau Empire may also be searched by reporter or abstract.
•Alaska Public Schools Database – Searchable by school name, district name or Alaskan community name, this database provides contact and enrollment information for Alaska’s public schools.
•Alaska State Museum Collections – Searchable catalog of the Museum’s 32,000 cataloged objects including Alaska Native material, historic artifacts, works of art, and natural history specimens. Alaska Native material, amounting to more than 15,000 objects, is the most outstanding part of the collection. Database may be searched by subject, culture, description, object name, maker, location or history.
•Alternative Testing Center locator – Usually assessment tests take place in schools, but under certain circumstances they can be taken elsewhere. Search this database by school district or community to find an approved alternative testing center.
•Daily K-9 Lessons – From the website, “The goal of the mastery lessons is to focus teacher instruction on the skills needed for students to master the concepts of math and reading. The skills and lessons are based on the expectations of the State of Alaska Benchmarks and the Terra Nova test. The lessons can be used independently or in conjunction with activities already being implemented by the instructor.”Searchable by subject and grade.
•Teacher Certification Database – Searchable by teacher first or last name, this database will provide a list of that teacher’s current certifications along with expiration dates. This database does not list expired certifications or any personal data.

Environmental Conservation, Department of
•Alaska Pesticide Registration Database – All pesticides must be registered with Alaska’s Dept of Environmental Conservation before being sold in the state. This database can be searched by brand, ingredient or company. As of 2008, DEC is working with Kelly Registration Systems for this registry. From the website, “This website (https://www.kellysolutions.com) is owned, maintained, and provided by Kelly Registration Systems, Inc. (KRS), Covington, GA, as a free service to the public through the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (Division of Environmental Health). KRS is a private company that maintains this search program not controlled or managed by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (Division of Environmental Health)”
•Contaminated Sites Program Database Search – Database of Contaminated Sites and Leaking Underground Storage Tanks (UST). Searchable by facility name, address, borough, city, zip code and status. Database entries include extensive site reports and contact information for responsible personnel.
•Food Inspection Database – Inspection database of restaurants in Alaska. Searchable by name or community. Records include location, establishment name, date of last inspection and type of inspection.
•Labs Approved for Contaminated Sites Analysis Including Underground Storage Tank Sites – Use this database to find a DEC approved/certified laboratory to examine your site for contaminated materials. Database may be searched by lab name, analysis method used, and type of contaminant (arsenic, diesel, etc).
•Online Permit Search (For wastewater/solid waste – Search by permit number, status, type of waste, or facility names. Search results link to PDFs of issued permits which explains how much can be dumped and how.
•Wastewater Operator Certification Search – Searchable listing of all certified wastewater system operators. Search by name, city or employer. Records list current certifications and expiration date along with current employer.
•Wastewater System Classification Search – Searchable by name of the community, the name of the facility or the owner. Records include what level of wastewater operator certificate is required for the facility.

Fish and Game, Department of
•AYK Salmon Database Management System- from the website, “The ADF&G, Division of Commercial Fisheries, Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim (AYK) Region has created a salmon database management system (DBMS) for public use. The goal of this system is to provide managers, researchers, and the public involved in salmon fisheries in the AYK Region with a system to enter and process new data, as well as to retrieve historical data. The AYK salmon DBMS provides access to AYK project descriptions, biological measurements of age, sex, and length, escapement data, and Norton Sound test fisheries data through this internet site. The website also includes a demonstration of extraction and reporting of subsistence and commercial harvest data for Norton Sound only.”
•Community Profile Database – From the website: “The Community Profile Database (CPDB) is the sole automated repository for information on subsistence fish and wildlife harvests in Alaska. The CPDB also contains a wide array of current socioeconomic data. Information is derived from more than a decade of research by the Division of Subsistence, and from other sources.”Note: This database must be downloaded to your computer and imported into Access or similar database program before it can be searched.
•ADF&G Division of Sport and Commercial Fisheries Reports – Simple Search – From the web site, “This database includes reports published in scientific and technical reporting series. New reports are added as published. To locate reports of interest, enter a search phrase below. Search results will include a link for additional information (Report Details) or a link to an Adobe PDF file of the full report.”
•EVOS Traditional Ecological Knowledge Database Reference Guide – From the website: “The information in the Reference Guide was collected with a survey that was sent to nearly 100 potential respondents, including communities in the spill impact area, Alaska Native associations, Native corporations and other Native organizations, state and federal agencies, libraries, archives, museums and anthropologists. For the purposes of this survey, traditional knowledge was broadly defined to include everything from raw notes, photographs, audio tapes and videotapes, to formal databases organized on computer software. The Reference Guide does not list any traditional ecological knowledge as such, but rather lists information on what data is out there, where it is, and what, if any, restrictions there are on access and use.”Note: This database must be downloaded to your computer before it can be searched.
•Fish Stocking Update Database – From the website, “This page is provided so you can search our stocking database to find which locations have been stocked, with what species of fish, and when specific locations were stocked.”Searchable by area, species and date.
•Permit/Vessel Database – This Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission database allows you to get information on fishing vessels working in Alaska as well as fishing permit holders. The database can be searched in many ways including by company/fisher name, home port zip code, vessel name, type of fishery and more. Data is also available as CSV downloads.
•Query the Fish Count Database – The department counts the numbers of migrating fish, primarily salmon, using weirs, sonars and counting towers in a number of streams throughout Alaska. Searchable by location, species and year using drop-down menus. Information is presented in tables and graphs.

Health and Social Services, Department of
•Child Care Facilities Database – Database of licensed child care facilities in the State of Alaska. Database may be searched by facility name, provider name, city and zip code. Entries include information on facility’s current legal status.
•EMS Provider Database – Search for EMS applicants by Last Name, SSN or Certificate Number and region. Database provides certication status of potential EMS personnel. Database also contains EMS instructor information.

Labor and Workforce Development, Department of
•2000 Census Summary Files – When you are interested in a single state, it can be daunting to get information from the 2000 Census’ data files. The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development took this data and placed it into a radio-button driven database of demographic data. Look here for Alaska 2000 Census information on race, place of birth, housing and more. Resulting tables may be saved as Excel spreadsheets.
•Occupational Database – From the website, “ODB contains occupation and place of work information on each wage and salary worker covered by unemployment insurance employed in Alaska. About 18,000 Alaskan employers report wages for employees during any given quarter. Alaska has approximately 350,000 employer/worker combinations per quarter.”Data is available in Excel spreadsheets by borough (county equivalent) and covers 2000 to latest available.

Lieutenant Governor, Office of
•Alaska Public Notices – List of all official public notices in Alaska State Government. Allows for notification updates by RSS and email. Dropdown search by category, department or publish date. A keyword search is also available. Categories of notices include: Agency Meetings, Attorney General Opinions, Boards & Commissions, Grants, Procurement, Public Notices, Licensing Examinations, and Regulations.

Natural Resources, Department of
•Alaska Hydrologic Survey Streams Database – “This is an electronic record of all streamflow measurements with supporting data made by the Alaska Hydrologic Survey staff over the years.”- Searchable by stream name or proximity to community. Database entries include stream location, flow data when available and links to text stream reports.
•Alaska Land Records – From the website, “Locate, research and verify land ownership and land use on state and federal lands within the State of Alaska. Access state and federal plats and survey documents. Use Recorder’s Office to research private lands.”Search by MTR, Lat/Long, Survey Number or Keyword. Search results are Plat maps.
•Division of Geophysical and Geological Surveys (DGGS) Publications Search – DGGS has been very active in scanning older publications into this database. Find digitized copies of DGGS and Alaska-related USGS reports going back to 1900 using author, title, subject, publication year and/or Quadrangle of interest.
•(Land) Recorder’s Office – Search types include: Plat Search, Name Search, Survey Search, Date Search, MTRS Search, Document Number Search, Subdivision Name Search, Document Type Search, No Plat Subdivision, Book and Page Search, and Document input & Unverified Status.
•Spills Database Online Query – From web site: “This online query application searches the Statewide Oil and Hazardous Substance Spills Database. The period of record for this database is July 1, 1995 to present.”Searchable by facility, location or substance. Database entries includes notes of site visits, remediation methods and final disposition.
•Water Quality Reports – Databases uses drop down menus to search by waterbody name, town, area name, hydrologic unit name or hydrologic code. From the website, “Water quality data has been collected from a variety of both surface water and ground water sources by the Alaska Hydrologic Survey. This site is an index to the data that has been compiled in reports or manually collected by the Alaska Hydrologic Survey.”
•Well Log Tracking System – Search for water wells by driller name, property owner name, property description or well key. From the website, “The Division makes NO representation regarding well location, completeness or accuracy of the data in the database or data extraction procedures provided.”

Public Safety, Department of
•Sex Offender/Child Kidnapper Registration Central Registry – This registry includes offenders who have been convicted of sex offenses specified under AS 12.63.100 who have registered and those who are required to register but may not be in compliance. Searchable by name and location. Databases include current address and often photos of registrant.

Revenue, Department of
•Unclaimed Property Searchable Database – Does Alaska owe you or your business money? Search this database by name to find out. Alaska has partnered with missingmoney.com as part of a national unclaimed property database.

Transportation and Public Facilities, Department of
•Technology Transfer Library Search – From the website: “This library contains over 1100 resources which can be downloaded from the web or requested through us. Use this library to search for Alaska DOT&PF reports & manuals, audio/video tapes, interactive resources, and software.”

University of Alaska
•AEIC Earthquake Database Search – Database from the Alaska Earthquake Information Center that contains earthquake locations from 01/1898 through 7/31/2007. Database is searchable by date, magnitude, location (latitude/longitude) and earthquake depth.
